Artist Bio 1949 –
John is originally from - New York City and Ossining New York, then Ventura and Big Bear California. He currently resides in Taylorsville Utah.
He is a professional award winning artist - who has been painting for over 40 years. Recent Awards: American Impressionist Society – Award of Distinction, Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters – Award of Excellence two years in a row.
John is a highly sought out instructor - and has taught for the (Scottsdale Artist School), (Salt Lake Community College) and (private workshops).
He also writes “how to” articles - on painting and has had close to one hundred articles combined in (Fibonacci Fine Arts Digest), (15 Bytes) and currently – (Outdoor Painter) - Plein Air Magazine’s on line newsletter.
John has had feature articles in - (Plein Air Magazine), (Fibonacci Fine Arts Digest), (15 Bytes magazine), (Pratique des Arts), (Outdoor Painter) and (Artist’s on Art).
He is a Signature Member of - (the American Impressionist Society), (Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters) and the (Plein Air Painters of Utah).
John was recently interviewed - for (the Plein Air Podcast with Eric Rhodes), which aired on February 10, 2020. (Podcast # 159)
Books he is featured in - (Painters of the Grand Tetons) and the (Dictionary of Utah Fine Artists), among others…
